Touristic Port, Rome, Lido di Ostia, Italy

Vertical’s world cup halfpipe stood in the arena at the tourist port of Rome. The set up was led by Christoph Mossu and eight local helpers built it stable and absolutely vertical. Moss is our new site supervisor for event skating facilities. He called on Thursday evening and reported that for the upcoming Tony Hawk show everything runs smoothly. The riders were satisfied and they had already shown some riding during the warm up session. Jean Postek, Jesse Fritsch, Kevin Staab, Sandro Dias and Tony Hawk travel around Europe with the Tony Hawk Tour. The tour stops are: July 8^th in Berlin, July 15^th in Rome, July 18^th in Barcelona in July 21^st in Brighton.

The halfpipe in Rome was built by Vertical Skateramps of Switzerland and Quiksilver branded it specifically for the Tony Hawk show. Check out the video on YouTube to experience the atmosphere. Have fun!

May 14 to 16, 2010

During three days we had the opportunity to skate the 360 ° bowl with hip from Vertical. Directly beside the Saone our facility was an optimal location for a good skate performance. Street elements completed the set up. With various skateboard demonstrations and a skateboard contest, the sport was brought closer to the public for one more time.

The side events included trapeze artists, dancers, music and artistic contributions, such as the "Moving Colorz" artists Brian Haab and Christian Martinez.

Who would not like to have his own Microramp in his backyard?
Due to a private inquiry, we have developed a special Microramp after the clients wish.

The Microramp has an overall width of 5.3 m. For the extension the customer chose a different radius.

For the riding surface our weather-resistant surface HPL was once again the chosen material.

Esplanade Lamartine in Macon, France

During three days the people skated, danced and made music in Macon - a manner to bring the cultural movement of young people closer to the public. Over the weekend a total of 7,000 spectators came to downtown Macon.

A 360° Bowl with hip was set up on the water stage on the river Saône for the skateboard contest. A small street course could be used by everyone. Also on site; Brian Haab and Christian Martinez with their Moving Colorz performance. The two artists have already performed their spectacular show during the celebration of 20 years of Vertical at the Bowl party in 2009.

South Africa:

No we do not report from the Soccer World Cup, but from the newly built halfpipe by Jacques Allison. So, not all information’s rotate only about the round leather.

To realize his dream to have his own Halfpipe, Jacques found support in the house of Vertical. With the help of technical advices from Paul Heuberger, he finally could fulfil his dream.

We wish Jacques and his crew to have a lot of fun with their new piece of jewellery.

Txotx! 2010

Miniramp Contest Durango Spain

On Saturday, May 15, 2010 in the contest Miniramp TXOTX of Volcom took place as every year. Once again the set up of the Miniramp was different. This time with 18 meters wide, over a section of green and three extensions to 90 °. The skaters came from all over Europe, as well as Argentina and Brazil.

Local riders began the session. After a few warm up runs, they have shown what can be done on the Vertical Miniramp. Riders like Rivado, Guillaume Mocquin, Emilio Arnanz, Alex Giraud, Micky Iglesias, Ibon Mariño, Andy Scott and many others have shown their skills to the delight of the public who had appeared numerous. Unfortunately, Julien Benoliel got injured during qualifying. We wish him a speedy recovery.

In the finals, skaters have demonstrated a firework of tricks. More than 2000 visitors pushed the finalists to their limits. Five riders drove the crowd: William Mocquin, Ibon Marino, Ivan Rivado Alain GTX and Aaron Sweeney were unstoppable this day.

The band VOXSON heated up the best trick contest to give an extra push to the session. In 2010 the Txotx! contest was a great success again. Thank you Volcom!
